Rat Fink Reunion 2011 Part 2

Here is some of my stuff I did for Rat Fink. I really liked painting on the barrels, and Ilene was really excited about the paintings of Ed on them.

Rat Fink Reunion 2011

Had a BLAST at Rat Fink Reunion this year. Josh did some pretty awesome stuff for the auction and prizes this year. He's getting really good. He is currently out of commission for a while due to shoulder surgery, but can't wait to be able to paint again.

What in the world is a Bultaco?

It is not made with ground beef. It is a Spanish made motorcycle. This one was made in 1967 the same as me. The owner is Chris Davenport who owns Salt Flat Speed Shop in Orem, Utah. He had a lot of awesome cars at the shop and I think that Josh took about a hundred pics, but only a few of the bike we were working on.

Andys Red Chair

Doug Beakstead is a guy that Josh and I met through the car show for Berkley. We painted the "Dragon Wagon" for that. Doug is the man who organized the show andgot everyone to donate all of the prizes. He does an amazing job! Well, he asked if Josh and I would be willing to stripe a few things for another charity auction. This is for a little boy named Kaleb who was mauled by a dog. I called my buddy Andy Kawahara and asked him if he would paint a folding chair that I could letter and stripe. Of course what I get is a bright red chair with 30 coats of metal flake on it. It is awesome! The pictures just dont do it justice, it has to be experienced in person. Josh and I also striped some mail boxes for the auction. I dont know how the pic of that old trailer got on here but I cant figure out how to get rid of it so remember that it is striped on corrugated metal.

The P-Roc Speed Shop logo is a pizza pan we painted for Josh's auto shop teacher. It is also the design for the back of their shop jackets. Lettering by me and striping by Josh

1957 Ranchero

Josh and I met a man named Jerry Cooper a week ago and he showed us his 57 Ranchero with some red stripes on it. He said that it just didn't have that finished look that he was after. So saturday Josh and I went to his house and Josh added some white to the existing red stripes while I put some stripes on his old travel trailer that he has restored to pull behind the Ranchero. Against my better judgement I aggreed to stripe the back of the trailer which is corrugated metal while Josh worked on the Ranchero. These pics will show you just how good Josh is getting. Thanks Jerry for letting us work on the 57.

Lots of Car Shows

The whole family spent most weekends during the summer at one car show or another. We did a couple of charity shows with our friend Andy Kawahara of Andys Pinstriping fame. The "Dragon Wagon" that he painted for little Berkley's benefit show was awesome. I did a gold leaf dragon and the name on the side and Josh did some striping on the inside. The guy who won it in the raffle was Drew from one of our SLC Mopar clubs. He bought a whole wad of tickets (he really wanted to win). We have run into him at a couple of shows since then and he always has that wagon with him. Thanks Drew!
Well, I will post a bunch of pics from some of our fun this past summer. Hope you like them. Oh yeah, Andy, let me know when you get that chair painted.
